The Banff Centre: The Banff Centre has year-round
entertainment, in addition to offering classes in its internationally renowned
Banff School of Fine Arts. Classical music, theatre, opera, iazz, and dance are

Banff Park Museum: Western Canada’s oldest natural
history museum preserves a unique atmosphere through its Edwardian Architecture
and original displays of wildlife taxidermy and park artifacts. 93 Banff

Billiards: Enjoy pool and refreshments at King Edward
Billiards
(762-4629). 3rd level King Edward Hotel (Corner of Banfi
Avenue &

Boating Rentals: Sixteen foot boats on Lake
Minnewanka with outboard motors are available from mid May to Labour Day
(762-3473).
Bow Falls: Exit off Spray Avenue, just below the
Banif Springs Hotel.
Bowling: The Banff Springs Hotel Convention Centre
offers 4 lanes of 5 pin bowling. Full lounge services and private rentals are
available.

Canoeing: In Banff the boathouse is located at Bow
Avenue and Wolf Street. Canoe rentals are also available at Lake Louise and
Moraine Lake.
Camping: There are over 2500 campsites in the Park:
no reservation is needed, first come, first serve basis. Contact Parks

Cave & Basin Centennial Centre: The interpretive
centre at The Cave marks the founding site of Canada’s National Park system and
provides information, slide shows, and computer games explaining the past and
future of Canada’s National Parks. Two short boardwalk interpretive trails
highlight the history and geology of the Hot Springs and the plant and animal
life associated with the unique eco-system created by the warm sulphur springs.

Central Park: Across
from the Post Office on Bear St., at Buffalo St. The ideal place for picnics
and relaxation.
Cycling: Bikes of all shapes and sizes are available
for rent from The Ski Stop. Banff Springs Hotel (762-5333) and 203A Bear Street
(760-1650).
Fishing: Many lakes and rivers in Banff National Park
are excellent places for fishing. Licenses are available from Parks Information
or at the Park Warden Office.
Fitness Facilities:
The Banff Community Fitness Centre is located in the Banff High School
Drop in and memberships are available (762-1229). The Sally Borden Building at

Gondola: The Lake Louise Gondola is a 12-minute ride
up Whitehorn Mountain to picturesque Whitehorn Lodge. Open daily 8 a.m. to 6
p.m Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets served Nature Centre. Education
Exhibits and much more. Exit from the highway across from Lake Louise Village and
drive 4 km (522-3555) Brewster Transportation & Tours operates Sulphur
Mountain Gondola at the upper end of Mountain Avenue Enjoy lunch in style and
comfort in either the Summit or Panorama Restaurants after a leisurely eight

Hiking: White Mountain Adventures offers daily hikes
in the Banff area as well as interpretive programs in Banff and at Sunshine
Meadows. Call 678-4099 for reservations Topographical and park trail maps are
available from the park Information Centre. Overnight campers in the
backcountry require a permit from the Park Information Centre. In Banff

Lake Minnewanka Drive: A hydro dam has created Banff’s largest lake which is located

Village on Highway 1 West will take you to the viewpoint for the Canadian

passage.
